Professional browser profile management for teams

Getting Started

1. Sign Up

  1. Go to sessn.app or download the desktop app
  2. Click "Sign Up" and create your account
  3. Verify your email address
  4. You're ready to start managing browser profiles!

2. Choose Your Platform

Web App (Management Only)

  • Access: Go to sessn.app in your browser
  • Features: Create profiles, organize folders, manage teams, view analytics
  • Limitation: Cannot launch browser profiles (management only)
  • Best for: Planning, organizing, and managing your profiles

Desktop App (Full Features)

  • Access: Download and install the desktop application
  • Features: Everything in web app PLUS launching browser profiles
  • Requirement: Must install Sessn Helper for browser launching
  • Best for: Daily use and actual browser profile management

3. Create Your First Profile

  1. Click the "+" button in the dashboard
  2. Enter a profile name (e.g., "Client - Acme Inc")
  3. Choose a folder (optional)
  4. Add proxy settings (optional)
  5. Click "Create Profile"

4. Install the Helper Application (Desktop Only)

To launch browser profiles, you need both the desktop app AND the Sessn Helper:

  1. Download the helper app for your operating system
  2. Install and run the helper
  3. The helper will automatically connect to your account
  4. You'll see your device appear in the dashboard

Core Features

Profile Management

Creating Profiles

  • Name: Choose descriptive names for easy identification
  • Folder: Organize profiles in folders (Free: up to 3 folders)
  • Proxy: Configure proxy settings for specific profiles
  • Profile Key: Auto-generated unique identifier for each profile

Launching Profiles (Desktop App Only)

  1. Click the "Launch" button on any profile card
  2. The helper app will open Chrome with that profile
  3. The profile status will show as "Active" in real-time
  4. Click "Stop" to close the profile

Note: Profile launching is only available in the desktop app. The web app is for management only.

Managing Profiles

  • Edit: Change name, folder, or proxy settings
  • Copy Key: Copy the profile key to clipboard
  • Delete: Remove profiles you no longer need
  • Search: Find profiles by name or key

Folder Organization

Creating Folders

  1. Click "New Folder" in the sidebar
  2. Enter a folder name
  3. Choose a parent folder for nested organization
  4. Folders help organize profiles by client, project, or team

Folder Features

  • Nested Structure: Create subfolders for better organization
  • Profile Count: See how many profiles are in each folder
  • Quick Access: Click folders to filter profiles
  • Rename/Delete: Manage folders as needed

Device Management (Desktop App Only)

Registering Devices

  1. Install the Sessn Helper on each device
  2. The helper automatically registers with your account
  3. Give devices descriptive names (e.g., "Office MacBook", "Home PC")
  4. Monitor device status in real-time

Note: Device management and browser launching are only available in the desktop app.

Device Features

  • Online Status: See which devices are connected
  • Last Seen: Track when devices were last active
  • Heartbeat: 30-second intervals keep status updated
  • Multi-Device: Launch profiles from any connected device

Team Collaboration (Team Plans)

Creating Teams

  1. Go to Teams section in the sidebar
  2. Click "Create Team"
  3. Enter team name and description
  4. Set up team branding (optional)

Inviting Members

  1. Generate invite codes (expire after 7 days)
  2. Share invite links with team members
  3. Assign roles: Owner, Admin, or Member
  4. Manage member permissions

Team Features

  • Shared Profiles: Create profiles accessible to team members
  • Role-Based Access: Control what members can do
  • Team Folders: Organize profiles by team structure

Settings & Preferences

Account Settings

  • Profile Information: Update display name and email

  • Default Device: Set preferred device for launches
  • Device Names: Rename devices for clarity
  • Connection Status: Monitor device health

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Profile Won't Launch

  1. Check Helper Status: Ensure helper app is running
  2. Device Connection: Verify device shows as "Online"
  3. Chrome Installation: Make sure Chrome is installed
  4. Permissions: Check if helper has necessary permissions

Device Not Connecting

  1. Internet Connection: Ensure stable internet connection
  2. Firewall: Check if firewall is blocking the helper
  3. Restart Helper: Close and reopen the helper application
  4. Reinstall: Try reinstalling the helper app

Sync Issues

  1. Refresh Dashboard: Reload the web interface
  2. Check Status: Look for error messages in the dashboard
  3. Restart Helper: Restart the helper application
  4. Contact Support: Reach out if issues persist
